About Windy City Bound

Back in 2016, I was in your shoes - ready to pack it all up and move to Chicago. Luckily, I had a brother that already lived here, and was moving to be with my then girlfriend, now wife who was finishing grad school. Sure, I'd been to Chicago many times to visit and had the false confidence of a tourist. But did I know enough to make the many decisions that would affect my daily life? What neighborhood should I live in? How close to the train do I need to be? Should I bring my car? I didn't have the answers to these questions, but the people around me thankfully did. Not everybody has a welcoming committee to help them land in Chicago.

Enter Windy City Bound.

Every day, I see people on online forums asking the same questions about moving to Chicago. Is this neighborhood safe? Can I afford to live here? Where can I live to be around other people like me? Sure, these answers are available in various corners of the internet with hours of research. But we wanted to curate them in one place to make it easily available and create a one-stop-shop for all things moving to Chicago. We're here to help from answering your first question to signing your first lease, and everything in between.

I created this site to offer as many free resources as possible. Please take advantage of all it has to offer - the neighborhood guides, the blog posts, the moving quotes, the affiliate links, and if you're ready to take the plunge, I'd love to help you find your first Chicago home.
